Carbon Trust Broadens Energy Efficiency Loan Criteria

In today’s tough economic climate, it is refreshing to hear of new financial initiatives in place to support our partners. Mitsubishi Electric’s ongoing bold and ambitious Green Gateway Initiative is delighted to report that the Carbon Trust has now broadened its Energy Efficient Loan criteria. This now means that businesses can apply for interest-free, unsecured loans from as little as £3,000 up to a very generous £400,000, repayable over a period of four years. Businesses are often tempted, especially given current economic conditions, to opt for low cost equipment or delay the purchase of replacement equipment; such immediate cost savings can prove to be a false economy. Now, thanks to the Carbon Trust and its new loan criteria, businesses can continue with their migration plans to new and improved energy efficient solutions.

The loans are available across the UK to all small and medium sized enterprise or non SME’s spending less then £500,000 per annum on electricity. In addition, any sized business in Wales or Northern Ireland may apply and in all cases the loan can be used in conjunction with an Enhanced Capital Allowance. Energy-Efficiency Loans can be used for a wide range of investments in energy saving technology, including selected Mitsubishi Electric commercial and industrial products.

Furthermore, our customers can conduct a free audit with the Mitsubishi Electric Audit Tool, and understand their current CO2 emissions and running costs. This helps them optimise equipment performance within the workplace and understand the timescales required to replace older equipment. The Mitsubishi Electric Audit data and findings may be used to support the energy saving credentials of the project and should be included in the loan application.

In most cases, businesses taking a Carbon Trust loan to update existing equipment find the savings they make on energy bills exceed the cost of the loan repayments. This means that businesses can benefit from brand new equipment, increased efficiency and reduced running costs; all at no expense to themselves. There are no arrangement fees and the application process is very straightforward. The Carbon Trust also offers advice to businesses, including a free on-site survey to help them identify the energy-saving equipment with the greatest potential to reduce their running costs. Businesses can find more information about interest-free Carbon Trust loans by calling 0800 085 2005 or visiting www.carbontrust.co.uk/loans
